Sponge fruit cake

Ingredients

  • 250 g butter or margarine
  • 250 g sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • a pinch of salt
  • grated lemon zest
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 pack baking powder
  • 125 ml milk
  • 900 g apples

Preparation

1 Whisk the butter or margarine with butter. Add eggs and beat.
2 Add other ingredients and mix into a dough.
3 Spread the dough evenly on a greased and dusted shallow baking sheet.
4 Core the apples and cut them into quarters. Place apple wedges (quarters) on the dough.
